STAMFORD LACROSSE ASSOCIATION - NEED BASED SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

The Stamford Lacrosse Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing the youth of Stamford, Connecticut opportunities to learn and play the sport of lacrosse.    

The Stamford Lacrosse Association offers "Need Based" Scholarships for participants who are registered in the City of Stamford "Free/ Reduced School Lunch Program". This scholarship rate is a substantial discount to the regular program fee. Families applying for this rate will be asked to provide SLA with supporting documentation of their child's participation in the City's Free/Reduced Lunch Program. In addition to the discounted rate, scholarship recipients may be able to borrow lacrosse equipment from the Stamford Lacrosse Association to use during the Spring season. There is a limited supply of this equipment and it must be returned at the end of the season. Parents/Legal Guardians are financially responsible for any unreturned or damaged equipment.

We understand that there may be extenuating circumstances, where certain individuals may not meet the criteria stated above. In those instances, you should submit a "Need Request" to SLA. Your request will be kept in strict confidence. Requests are considered during the registration period for the spring season and apply only toward the spring season for which the request is made. 

Scholarship recipients are still required to purchase their own US Lacrosse membership. The price of the US Lacrosse membership is not included in the Stamford Lacrosse Association registration fee.

To apply for a needs based scholarship, please send a copy of your child's enrollment in the Stamford School Free or Reduced Lunch program to our PO Box or an email submission to our treasurer (stamfordlaxtreasurer@gmail.com)  prior to the end of Regular Registration.  If your submission has not been submitted you will be subject to pay the full registration fee.


Stamford Lacrosse Association 2016 Scholarship Rates

Boys and Girls Grades 1-2: $75

Boys and Girls Grades 3-4:  $130

Boys and Girls Grades 5-8: $150

* Scholarship applicants are subject to any late fees that are in effect at the time they register.
